Looking back, the HEAT was definitely one of the best things, if not the best, I have done in my life and I just wanted to take the time to thank you for all of your efforts for the HEAT.
I am thankful to you for all that you have done for me as a person and for the swimming team on the HEAT. I don’t think that I could ever fully express my gratitude for all your efforts but I would like to tell you how much the HEAT, your organization, changed me for the better.
When I joined the HEAT, I was not a person that I could be proud of. However, becoming part of the team and investing myself in the people of the team changed my life. I can honestly say that there is no chance I would be where I am or who I am today if it were not for the HEAT. The values of the HEAT, the people of the HEAT, and most of all, your enthusiasm and passion for the HEAT created the team and the family that I had always desired as a homeschooled high school swimmer. Even though we couldn’t work out together and only saw each other as a team during the three short months of high school season, I felt more at home with the group of people that was the HEAT than with anyone else (excepting my own family). Today I can truthfully say that all my dearest and most genuine friends in the world are from the HEAT.
As I go on to college swimming at Hillsdale College, I keep the HEAT in mind and reflect on what it has done for me. For one, I wouldn’t’t have continued swimming into college if it was not for the HEAT. If not for the HEAT, I would not have the relationship with Jesus Christ that I have today. I consider the best parts of who I am today to have been fostered by my time with the HEAT and I would like to thank you for that. I earnestly wish you all the best and I will never forget all that the HEAT has done for me.
Once again, thank you.
